Minimum Qualifications:
- A born-again believer with a maturing relationship with Jesus Christ
- Agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000) and the Cudd Memorial Baptist Church Statement of Beliefs
- Demonstrated pursuit of leadership qualifications as listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7
- A clear calling to Student Ministry.
- Undergraduate degree from an accredited Bible College or Christian liberal arts college in Theology, Christian Education, Youth Ministry, or Young Adult Ministry or related field.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Three (3) or more years of ministry experience leading and teaching youth ministry programs.
- Demonstrated love and solid rapport with students
- Sensitivity to students' issues and ways to encourage spiritual growth.
Duties and Responsibilites
1. Develop positive relationships with students and lead students to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
2. Plan and attend all youth activities, including camp, DNOW, Fall Retreat, midweek programs, and Sunday morning gatherings.
3. Plan and execute quarterly meetings with the Volunteer Your Team.
4. Plan the annual activities calendar with input from the Volunteer Youth Team.
5. Plan and develop a curriculum that affirms Cudd Memorial’s beliefs and mission.
6. Invest in the students personally and spiritually.
7. Be visible on appropriate school campuses and at student activities.
8. Teach the midweek program and 1 of the Sunday programs (Sunday school OR small groups) and provide adequate coverage in your absence.
9. Develop an effective InReach and Outreach ministry to care for current students
and reach out to new students and families.
10. Prepare and submit the Youth Ministry Budget to the Finance Committee annually.
11. Be responsible for following proper policies and procedures related to the Youth Ministry area.
12. Maintain current background checks on all volunteers serving in the Youth Ministry area.
13. Promote youth ministry activities through announcements, social media usage, church websites, etc.
General Duties
1. Attend weekly staff meetings.
2. Be involved in the total church program, attending Sunday morning worship, Sunday evening activities (as planned), and special church-wide events.
3. Be a consistent attendee, giver, and Cudd Memorial Baptist Church member.
4. Be available to counsel students and families during the worship service and the week.
5. Approach conflict within ministerial areas of responsibility according to the biblical
principles in Matthew 18 in an encouraging manner, calling on the Senior Pastor for assistance, if necessary.
6. Be committed to maintaining a scheduled family time, including weekly protected time and annual vacation periods (as indicated in the Employee Policy Handbook). Recognize the need for personal free time and continually show the importance of family by focusing on his family’s welfare to ensure they are cared for spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
Occasional Duties:
1. Perform pastoral ministries (crisis visitation, funerals, and weddings) as needed.
2. Lead in worship services upon Senior Pastor’s request.
3. Assist in other ministry opportunities or times of need at the Pastor’s request.
Accountability:
1. Submit to the leadership of the Senior Pastor in matters of performance of
duties, attendance, and expectations.
2. Submit annual Staff Reflection to the Senior Pastor.
3. Approach internal conflict following the biblical principles given in Matthew 18.
4. Provide ministry updates to the church leadership as requested by the Senior
Pastor.
